Sean O’Brien, is a retired professional Irish rugby player. Playing with Leinster for eleven seasons and internationally for Ireland for ten years. He announced his retirement from rugby in 2022 and has started farming more seriously as well as working with Leinster Rugby as their Contact Skills Coach. Having always had an interest in Herefords we are delighted to welcome Sean onboard as an Irish Hereford Prime member and to promote our Producer Group, our Breed, our Brand and our Beef.
Sean loves farming, it’s been a part of his life for a long time and a place where he feels at home.
“It’s nice and relaxed, it’s a way of life”.
Third generation farmer on his farm, his dad and my grandfather used to run it now he’s getting into Herefords, working calf to beef. “From a beef point of view Herefords give you a prime cut and everyone likes a good steak including myself”. Planting over 200 trees around the farm last year Sean knows how important sustainability is for farming now to protect the future. He is delighted to be an Irish Hereford Prime member and is really looking forward to the support we will provide in his new farming venture.
