NATIONAL HEREFORD CALF SHOW 2024
Dovea Genetics and Irish Hereford Prime are joint title sponsors of this year’s National Hereford Calf Show taking place this weekend. This established national event will be held at GVM Tullamore on Saturday November 16th. With the classes starting at 10am and eighty of the top Hereford calves in the country entered, some of the best young Hereford bulls and heifers available will be showcased on the day.
Hopefully some of the young bulls on display on the day will make it through the rigorous selection process to join the expanding bull panel for the Irish Hereford Prime Beef Sustainability Program. Irish Hereford Prime and Dovea Genetics are looking forward to seeing some of the finest young Hereford genetics being showcased over the weekend, reinforcing their commitment to enhancing the economic and environmental value of beef production through the producer group’s Beef Sustainability Program.
About Dovea Genetics: Set on 200 hectares of exceptional grassland the Dovea Genetics bull stud has 120 bulls standing at stud producing semen in a controlled environment which is monitored and audited by the Department of Agriculture. We currently have a dairy and beef breeding program in operation to enable us to identify the best dairy and beef bulls.
The beef program revolves around buying the best young bulls in each breed from performance test stations, on farm, at shows and sales annually. There is a comprehensive range of beef bulls in all breeds covering everything from the dairy market, replacement market, weanling export and beef finishing markets.
